App Review:
When it comes to telling jokes, I can usually only remember about two or three and two of them can’t be told in mixed company. So, when I came across Joke Shake I was instantly hooked.
As you would expect the app does exactly what it’s name implies. If you shake your iPhone or iPad you will get a new joke each time. Imagine the magic eight ball concept applied to jokes.
For the most part, almost all of the jokes are funny, which is a real challenge in an of itself. The developer, Dean Murphy at EchoEcho, has done a great job of packing in the laughs on this free app. The jokes start out as general audience humor, but there are Adult, Doctor Doctor, and Yo Momma Joke packs that you can unlock to help spice things up if you want.
The app comes with features that let you share jokes with friends via Facebook and SMS text messaging, and you can even submit your own jokes directly to Dean for possible inclusion in future app updates.
Overall I am very impressed with the simplicity and function of this app. It runs just as well on my iPad and the best part is, I don’t have to rely on my own weak list of jokes at the next party. I can just pull out Joke Shake and let it take care of making me look funny.

Posted at 14:12h, 06 DecemberDean Murphy is getting ready to launch a new app called Number Tap. It’s a math based game with some pretty sweet UI elements. His menus are playful and organic feeling, which is the opposite of how I think of math, so I’m looking forward to seeing it in on the Apple App Store.
