Dilbert Game Jam: Announcing the Winner
In mid-May, we tasked Corona developers around the world to submit a Corona SDK sample game centered on Dilbert, the cartoon hero known for his satirical office humor.
From May to July the submissions poured in and the games we received all told a rich story of not only the power and diversity of Corona SDK, but more importantly, the talent and creativity of Corona’s community. Needless to say, the content shift in the gaming marketplace has already taken place, and you, the developer are a major part of this equation.
Entries came in from around the globe, as close as our Silicon Valley backyard and as far-flung as Denmark. Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert, had the challenging task of evaluating the top entries and selecting the winning game. Scott was most impressed with DazzleCube’s submission: a path drawing game in which the goal is to collect coffee beans (the office workers’ fuel) and help the Dilbert characters escape the shackles of the office environment. The game trailer is innovative, makes full use of the Dilbert brand and characters and most importantly, has the potential to be a hit on the app stores.
We’re thrilled that the grand prize winner, Paolo Longato, will personally work with Scott to publish his game for both iOS and Android!
We’d like to congratulate and thank everyone that took time to submit their Dilbert entries. We’ll keep you posted once DazzleCube’s Dilbert game hits the market.
